Kieran had a great Christmas. Santa brought him all kinds of goodies but his favorites right now are the two light sabers he got (because how can you swordfight with only one). He also got a train table (OMG does that take up a lot of room), new art supplies, a Diego coloring book, some trick tracks and two new games for his Explorer.
The Leapfrog Explorer continues to be a big hit (2nd only to Daddy's iPad) and he's doing fairly well on all the games he has so far. Sometimes he enjoys just making the characters do specific things instead of actually trying to win a game, but hey, he's having fun.
After Kieran finished opening his gifts (took about 15 minutes) he then turned around and said "OK, let's go to my cousins now." It was 6:30 AM. Kieran woke up at 5:45 (we sent him back to his room for 15 minutes) and we explained it was too early to go there just yet. Eventually we made it to Uncle Andy & Aunt Wendy's house for some fun with the cousins, a great dinner and a good time. On the way down, Ken referred to it as "a very Jewish Chrimstmas" which struck me as funny, but apt.
Anway, hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and we'll be blogging again soon. And by we, I mean me.

The Parent-Teacher Conference
Our first one-on-one with Kieran's teacher was today. Overall, she says Kieran is very bright, remembers a lot from the beginning of the day to the end. He is a physical child - he likes to be moving, kicking or punching. His anger has flared up again lately but overall he's doing well using his words.
Its very strange and somewhat gratifying to hear that he behaves at school much as he does at home. When he is told to do something he doesn't wish to do he gets angry about it ("no" or "that's not fair") and when he's happy he's moving and laughing and playing. Mostly, the teacher said what needs work are his social skills - just taking turns and waiting seem hard for him.
I guess it's not surprising given he's an only child. Anyway I know I was bad bad bloggy mommy for awhile so I thought I'd share while it was fresh in my mind. Love to all, blog again eventually.

Will this sickness never end?
So I have been horribly neglectful of the blog of late. If it makes you feel any better, I'm not really posting to Facebook either.
Truly, I got sick shortly after we got back from Ohio and I just don't have a ton in me, though Kieran continues to be as adorable as ever. My cold (courtesy of daycare) powers on, though less obnoxious now than it was, and there is not anything to be done about it. *sigh* Ken got sick too.
ANYWAY - On to Kieran news....
His favorite things right now are to watch tv (frightening) and play his Leapster Explorer (Chanukkah gift). He also will now wail "It's not fair!" whenever something doesn't go his way. Sadly, this may last until he's in his teens. I tell him "It may not be fair, but it's the way it is." Which doesn't always go over so well but makes me feel better.
That's about it. The Christmas tree is up, we'll be hanging stockings tonight and, if I'm up for it, finally making latkes for the women at daycare who asked so nicely for them. Gotta go, will try to blog again soon.
