Our Trip to Ohio

Kieran required someone to sit in the backseat with him so it was a very quiet trip for Ken and I (which is sad because we were both looking forward to spending that time together), but at least he did sleep. He was cranky when we got to our destination and it wasn't morning. Ken had to sleep with Kieran on his chest in order to get the little munchkin to go back to sleep.

We stayed with Kenny and Marilyn (Ken's dad and stepmom) who graciously gave up their own bedroom for us. Thanks again for that. Here are a few photos. I don't know why Ken chose to put these up on his website, but Kieran looks drunk in all of them. I swear we didn't give that kid any liquor and he smiled nearly the entire weekend. It was the first time for Kieran to meet Ben and Matt (Ken's brothers), Lori (sister-in-law), and his cousins Austin, Noah, Riley and Morgan. He'd met Noah before, but only briefly, everyone else was new to him. He's such a good sport and allowed himself to be passed around and smiled at pretty much everyone.

That's pretty much it. Ben is now off to NC for Combat training, after that we'll see if he gets shipped out or sent to one more training facility. We won't know anything for about a month. Kieran thought Lori looked an awful lot like Miss Rebecca and gave her the biggest smile of all when he saw her. That was pretty funny. Lori, for her part, thought Kieran was cute (but really, who doesn't?) and said holding a baby was really nice but she was done.

Debbie bought Kieran some great toys that we still need to get out of the car, and some toys that he won't be able to use until he's older (but Ken may play with those now). So thanks, Deb!
